Prospek Usaha di Bidang Agribisnis

Sektor bisnis pertanian yang bergerak dalam bidang agribisnis memiliki prospek yang cukup menjanjikan untuk dapat dikembangkan khususnya bagi masyarakat Indonesia karena memiliki letak geografis yang sangat tepat dan strategis yang berada di iklim tropis. Peluang usaha ini dapat menjadi pilihan untuk menuju dunia usaha khususnya bagi pemula karena tergolong cukup mudah dan bisa dimulai dengan modal yang kecil. Peluang usaha dalam bidang agribisnis yang dapat diterapkan adalah memulai dengan mengolah suatu produk bahan pangan dan menjualnya dipasar sehingga mendapatkan nilai jual yang menguntungkan.

Salah satu potensi komoditas pangan yang patut dipertimbangkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan saat ini adalah peluang usaha budidaya umbi-umbian seperti singkong. Dengan mengetahui pemanfaatan dan produk-produk apa saja yang dapat dihasilkan dari singkong tentu akan mendorong dan memotivasi petani untuk memanfaatkan hasil pertaniannya agar memperoleh penghasilan yang lebih tinggi. Singkong memiliki kegunaan yang sangat banyak, selain sebagai bahan baku industri pangan, singkong juga dapat digunakan dalam industri pakan dan obat-obatan. Penggunaan singkong sebagai bahan baku industri banyak dilakukan karena budidaya singkong telah lama dilakukan sehingga singkong mudah dicari dan dapat selalu tersedia kapan saja.

Singkong juga dapat dijadikan untuk berbagai jenis produk olahan langsung yang terdiri dari produk olahan kering (misalnya keripik singkong dan kerupuk singkong) dan produk olahan semi basah (contohnya tape, getuk dan makanan tradisional lainnya). Serta tepung singkong sebagai bahan baku untuk tiwul instan dan juga berbagai aneka kue. Dari berbagai jenis makanan tersebut keripik singkong merupakan produk yang cocok untuk kalangan petani, selain proses pembuatannya yang cukup mudah, keripik singkong merupakan makanan ringan yang sudah tidak asing lagi bagi sebagian besar penduduk Indonesia. Bahkan keripik singkong menjadi ikon makanan khas Indonesia yang sangat digemari oleh semua lapisan masyarakat. Hal ini dapat kita lihat dengan semakin banyaknya usaha kecil menengah yang memproduksi keripik singkong. Apabila ditinjau dari aspek ekonomis usaha pembuatan keripik singkong mempunyai prospek yang menggembirakan. Karena dengan harga yang sangat terjangkau konsumen bisa menikmati keripik singkong yang renyah, gurih, pedas dan nikmat. Rata-rata penggemar berat makanan pedas adalah kalangan remaja atau anak muda sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai target pasar yang sangat potensial, dengan cara menawarkan beberapa level rasa pedas untuk memenuhi permintaan para konsumen.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Pujiati dan Dumasari (2012) di pedesaan Kabupaten Banyumas menunjukkan kekuatan pengaruh dari kewirausahaan potensial mendorong petani pengrajin bisnis kreatif pangan olahan singkong mampu memanfaatkan peluang pasar hingga aneka jenis produk yang dihasilkan selalu disesuaikan dengan trend, variasi, cita rasa dan ekspektasi selera konsumen. Oleh karena itu, produktivitas, kreativitas, orientasi bisnis dan posisi tawar tidak dapat terlepaskan dari semangat dan kemampuan kewirausahaan seorang petani karena mengingat posisi strategisnya sebagai pengelola usahatani.

  Dengan mengolah singkong menjadi keripik, akan diperoleh keuntungan yang lebih besar daripada menjual singkong secara langsung tanpa proses pengolahan. Dalam pembuatan usaha ini, diperlukan modal yang lebih besar, namun keuntungan yang diperoleh juga lebih besar, dan dari keuntungan tersebut, selain dapat digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup, juga dapat digunakan untuk modal usaha selanjutnya. Sehingga dengan usaha keripik singkong ini penghasilan petani akan meningkat.
